New Year, Same Plastic Polluter Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Nestle were named the top plastic polluters for the third year in a row according to Break Free From Plastic's report.
Break Free From Plastic has conducted an annual brand audit across the globe where citizens collect, count, and document the brands on plastic waste found in their communities and environment. So far they have colelcted 346,494 pieces of plastic from 55 countries. The results from this year show that the top single use plastic polluters have been falsly claiming to reduce their plastic production through greenwashing. These brands need to make real steps to waste reduction by reducing, reinventing, and using a reuse system.
